You will need:
- A plain white mug
- A black Sharpie
- Rubbing alcohol/Nail polish remover
- An oven
1. Buy or get yourself a plain white mug. It could be another colour so long as it is pale otherwise you won't be able to see your design very well.
2. Get yourself a black Sharpie or another marker pen (Sharpies work the best). Black is the most effective and will last on your mug rather than getting washed off; any colour is fine but is likely not to last forever.
3. Rub with rubbing alcohol all over the mug where you are going to draw on the mug. This will clean the mug and help it to stay. You can use nail polish remover as an alternative. Now would be a good time to start heating your oven up, too, so set it to 220 degrees Celsius or 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
4. Draw your design on the mug. If you go wrong, quickly rub it off with the rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover.
5. Put your mug into the oven and let it heat for 30 minutes. This will make sure that it stays and won't wash off. When it is done, take it out the oven and allow to cool.
You now have designed and made your own 'Sharpie mug'! Here are a couple of ideas that other people have made for inspiration:

If you do make these mugs, then I hope this tutorial has helped you. :)
